Creative Portrait Photography
Advertising commissions are usually the shoots that really get our creativity flowing. Companies are looking for creative portrait photography that will attracted and engage their clients. With the endless advances in technology and visuals we see everday, standards are pushed higher and higher all the time.
We pride ourselves on not only using the highest quality Canon photography kit but keeping up to date with the latest editing and retouching techniques. Taking the shot is only half the job. It’s what we create with the photo that really produces the quality professional end product.
Now I’ve been putting composite images together for some time, and time is exactly what it takes to get it right for this photography technique. I was inspired by the work of professional photographers Joel Grimes and Calvin Hollywood, and that would be my advise to any budding photographer to do just that, find the work that really rocks your boat and use it as a base to create your own style.
What is professional composite photography?
It’s simply where we mix more than one photograph together. I shot the subject in the studio which allows me to concentrate on the lighting then add in a new background. Many of the backgrounds I use are (hdr) which is 3-5 images of different exposures mixed together to give a high dynamic range and great effect. Now when I first began these composite images it took countless hours. As a creative portrait photographer I would go over and over each process till I had it down to fine art. But over the years i’ve used many different photoshop techniques and blended them together to create my own composite photography work flow. The end result being modern creative portraits
Now as you’ll see I’ve added some before and after images so you can see even though I aim to get the lighting in the studio prefect for the type of composite image I’m trying to create. It’s still the advance photoshop techniques that really bring out the detail and styling of the final image.
Sports Portrait photography
Now you’ve probably worked out for yourself now that sports portraits and fitness photography are a little bit of speciality of mine. It suits the edgy and detailed I’ve become renowned for. I shoot regular commissions for clients such as Lonsdale and Bulk Powders. Creating edgy website and advertising images for their latest media campaigns.
